2019 InnoSTARS Chicago Recap

Chicago Preliminary Winner

First Place

Valqari is a drone delivery solutions company. We have patented smart drone delivery mailboxes, what we call the RCVR-PAD (pronounced Receiver Pad). The RCVR-PAD provides delivery drones with a standardized, safe, and secure place to land. This limits potential liabilities and theft, while greatly increasing convenience.

A Strong Start to 2019

March 4th 2018, Chicago: The first competition of the 2019 China InnoSTARS preliminaries was recently held in Chicago. This China readiness competition included U.S. technology companies with Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions for a wide range of end-user markets in China. Co-organized by Mandarin Environment and law firm Polsinelli, and in collaboration with a number of supporting partners, the day-long program included 10 minute pitches from each company with 5 minutes of Q&A, an IOT and AI panel discussion, multiple networking breaks, and a happy hour reception.

Competing technology companies came from across the U.S. from a wide range of subsectors that include smart city, smart home, smart industry, and smart energy.Judges were provided with a scoring methodology that scores the competing U.S. technology companies on their ‘readiness’ for success in the China market.

The highest scoring technology companies from the March 4th Chicago preliminaries will be extended invitations to compete against top-scoring companies from other U.S. cities in the semi-finals and finals in China in Oct/Nov 2019. The grand final will be in Changsha on November 20th.  Noting the quality of competing companies in the Chicago preliminaries, perhaps one of the Chicago companies will ‘go the distance’ this year.
